Nora,You might try contacting Claremore Funeral Home which is located in Rogers County; 918-341-4512, at 1001 N Lynn Riggs Blvd, Claremore, Ok 74017 or Moore Funeral Homes 918-744-1202 (main office) 2570 S. Harvard, Tulsa 74005 as they handle many outlying areas around Tulsa in which Inola would fall. I am sure that either funeral home would be more than happy to direct your search. I could not find any home listed in the hamlet of Inola, however, Moore's may have a representative in place there. Good Luck. Anne

Nora, I telephoned the City Hall in Inola. They do not have your Grampa listed on their records of Sweeten Cemetery, nor Highland Cemetery which is the oldest and the only records for Highland are from stones taken by a volunteer. They suggested that one might try EDEN MENNONITE CHURCH (1-918-543-2239)as they have a cemetery. If no luck there, more than likely he was buried on his land back in 1919 as Inola was not an incorporated town at that time. A more difficult path.

My mother's maiden name was SANDERS and I have also been trying to track the name without much success. ANDREW MASTEN SANDERS (1837-192?) was his name, should you cross it. Anne

Thank you

Thank you for your help with this. I appreciate the addresses and names of the funeral homes. I probably should have mentioned that John G. Sanders died in 1919.

The Inola Highland Cemetery records were not keep up to well. They are trying to get them up to date. Do you know if he had a head stone some people do not . The next time I go back to Inola I will look for you if you have not found him.
They have my gr-gr-greatAunt on record as burried in her uncle's grave plots in the (southeast) and yet her head stone is with her Mother , father , sister and brother-in law plots in the southwest )

if i m not mistaken, John G is buried in the claremore cemetary. it would be at the sanders plot just off the main entrance. william edward sr, etta jane scraper sanders, kittie scrimsher sanders, william edward jr, anna wright sanders, connelly sanders, dewitt sanders, frank sanders, and host of scrimshers and gunters are in this plot. W.E. Jr is my grandfather.
