Bowman Cemetery at
Murray. One son served in Company F, 1st
KY Infantry, CSA, and then in Faulkner's 12th
KY Cavalry, CSA, being captured; died in prison; body was shipped to Paducah to his wife's family but location of burial is lost. Another son served in Company F, 154th Sr. TN Infantry, CSA; died in the war, and buried in the family cemetery. Bowman was a Unionist during the war and served as
Clerk of the
Calloway Circuit
Court during the war, having been placed in office by the
Yankee invaders.
