Searching for information on Amanda A Miller; daughter of Charles H Miller. Amanda was born Dec 1876 in Illinois. Her last residence was: 440 Elm Street, Deerfield, Lake County, Illinois when she died March 1958.
She married Fred F. Schaewe 3 Apr 1895 in Cook County.

I did a quick search on familysearch.com and found your Amanda Miller in the 1880 census in Cook Co., IL. , in Chicago. The family was listed as follows:
MILLER, Charles...age 31, born NY, father born Saxony, mother born Ireland.
MILLER, Carrie...age 26 (wife), born in Germany, parents born in Germany.
MILLER, Amanda...age 3 (daughter), born IL
MILLER, Alma...age 1 (daughter), born IL
GRUSI, Mary...age 69 (mother), born in Germany, parents born in Germany. (this is likely Carrie's mother).

1900 census finds Amanda married to Fred Schaewe, living in Lake View Twp., Chicago, Cook Co., IL with children Elmer & Lillie.

1910 census finds them in Chicago, Ward 22 at 1210 Pleasant St. Children listed are still Elmer & Lillian.

1920 - could not find them. The name may be completely misspelled.

1930 census finds them in Northfield Township in Village of Glenview as follows:
Fred SCHAEWE...age 58, occupation-scale assembler.
Amanda SCHAEWE...age 54.
No children are listed living with them.

A death notice in the Chicago Tribune newspaper state:
Amanda A. Schaewe, 440 Elm Street, Deerfield, beloved wife of the late Fred; dear mother of Elmer and Lillian Pottenger; five grandchildren; 20 grandchildren; fond sister of Alma Bendler. Resting at funeral home, 825 Waukegan Road, Deerfield, where services wilol be held Saturday, 2:30 pm. Interment (at) Eden cemetery.

Thanks for the lookup. Unfortunately, that is the same information that I have. The easy-to-find stuff was all I could gather. Schaewe is not real common.

Do you have a birth place more precise than 'Illinois'?

OOPS! I was in the wrong database.. Amanda died 7 Mar 1958 in Illinois. Her parents are Charles H and Caroline Griese Schaewe. I assume there were no more children than the 2?
How many kids did her son Elmer have?
Does anyone have any info on Saxony and the German end of the research?
