I descend from
Fielding Price who arrived in what became
White County in 1836 along with his extended family including grandmother, dad, uncle,etc.
Have you considered check for Civil War service? Either here in
Arkansas or back in
Tennessee? The
Arkansas Civil War site is excellent and those guys can tell you a lot. Even though he was at least 35 when the war started, he could have been in a local militia.
Also, did you check the land records?

Anderson. There were two listings for a John
Anderson, but that was in 1836 and 1838. I bet someone on the list is kin to the ones you are searching for.
