I am researching the John Anderson family who lived in the El Paso and Royal Townships, White Co, Arkansas during the late 1880's. John Anderson was born in 1825 in NC. I show him living in Haywood County, TN in 1850 census with his family. I am trying to find out who he was married to. I know he had 3 sons whose mother was born in NC. Then he had 6 children whose mother was born in TN. He then married Susan Booth and they had 4 children. I believe that the woman he married from TN was a Warren. Can anyone help?

White County has nearly everything possible on the web site.

Thanks Linda! I use the White County Historical Society web page almost religiously. I have a mother and sister who live in White County. I have alot of information, but there are a few bits and pieces I am still missing.

Yes, I do understand what you are talking about. I love to just sit and read what is available.
I descend from Fielding Price who arrived in what became White County in 1836 along with his extended family including grandmother, dad, uncle,etc.
Have you considered check for Civil War service? Either here in Arkansas or back in Tennessee? The Arkansas Civil War site is excellent and those guys can tell you a lot. Even though he was at least 35 when the war started, he could have been in a local militia.
Also, did you check the land records?

Go here and type in Anderson. There were two listings for a John Anderson, but that was in 1836 and 1838. I bet someone on the list is kin to the ones you are searching for.

Angela: I am descended from Nancy Lee Anderson, daughter of John Anderson. It is believed that she was born in Madison, TN 9-5-1856 and her mother was Wealthea Warren. I wish I had more information for you. John Anderson's second wife was Susan from Alabama. "Nannie" Anderson m. James Franklin Walker b. 6-10-1854 in White Co. AR. Nannie married 2-1-1877 in White Co. She died 12-1-1919 and is buried in Grissard Cemetery in White Co. I was told that John Anderson was a Baptist preacher and he did have a large family. Eva, thank you so much for this information!!!! I had virtually no information on Nancy Anderson. I did have that her husband's name was Fred Webb.???? I don't know where that came from. And I couldn't figure out why I couldn't find where she was buried. Now I know why!!! And I am so happy to finally have her mother's name. That has been a huge brick wall for me. I am trying to find out who the parents of John A Anderson, Sr were. My grandmother married John's grandson, Thomas, s/o of Thomas W. Does anyone have this information?? Does anyone know if this line of Anderson's are kin to Samuel Lindsay Anderson of S.C and Madison, TN?? Any help is greatly appreciated!
