I am trying to locate the death record or an obit or any information concerning my Great Grandmother Etta Flood Gaffney (1867-1904). She was buried in Evergreen Cemetery. She was married to William H. Gaffney. She had 3 children, one survived (my Grandmother). She was the daughter of Franklin Flood and Jerusha Kirby. My Grandmother was two years old when her mother, Etta, died. Any information or help would be so much appreciated. Thank you.

Good morning,
Morley library in Painesville has an obituary listed for Mrs. Will Gaffney, d. 1904. It appears in The Telegraph June 2, 1904 page 1 and again on June 9, page. 8. If you email them your request for copies, they will send them out to you. The cost is minimal.

I have a Kate Gaffney who married John Knight. John was a brother to my grandmother Bessie. Looking again at the census, it looks like Kate and William may have been brothers? Both Kate and John are buried in Evergreen also. Do you have any of this in your records? Will be in touch later. Thanks for writing-Linda in Michigan.

I am work right now, but when I get home I'll check my 'stuff' and will email you back.

Good Morning Linda,
I was so excited to get your note this am---yes, Kate (Katie Estelle Gaffney) and my Grandpa William Gaffney are brother and sister. I do have Aunt Kate marrying John Knight. I have some old photos of Aunt Kate that I just got this past winter from my Aunt. Thank you so much for the info about Morley Lib., I will call them this week. Grandma Etta Flood Gaffney has been such a "mystery Grandma" to me as she died when my Grandma (her daughter Evelyn) was only 2 years old.
I would love to communicate and share information if you would like---I do not know if I have anything that you may need.
Where in Michigan are you? I am from Ludington, but live in Texas.

Thanks again, I look forward to hearing from you.
Debbie

Debbie,
Thanks for writing. I never thought I'd ever make a Gaffney connection! Pictures I love. I only have one of John and one of Kate that is not very good. Any you have that you could get copied, I will send you $$ right away. As soon as I get home, I'll look up what I have and will email you.

I'm living in Ann Arbor, but originally I'm from Painesville, so I know that area well. Well, will be in touch later. -Linda.

Linda,

I would love to share the photos with you! I know what you mean about connecting with a Gaffney. . . .we are out there though. I will send the photos to Walgreens this evening when I will have a few more moments on the computer, and pick them up tomorrow. Where can I send them to? My e-mail address is: biggsfam@yahoo.com. I am so tickled to share. . . I will look forward to hearing from you tonight.

Debbie
