Would someone please tell me how to import a FTM1012 GEDCOM export file into either roots magic 4 or 5 and have the media links work. Thanks so much.

Do you see little 'X's where the the media should be? If so then you can have Roots Magic search for your media. If not then Root Magic may not be able to import the media.

I don't much use media so I've never really tried, though I know when I use Roots to Go I can get it to look for photos with no problem.

The files may not be in the directory that Roots Magic is looking for, it might also be looking for a different named file, or the media may not be on your computer at all.

I don't use media much so I can't really help. I do know that I've had success allowing the program to search for the files.

This problem was fixed with the latest update of RM5. It now correctly imports and saves all FTM media links when you import a FTM GEDCOM export file.
