Vauchere

Joseph was the brother of Catherine Vauchere. I have not heard of the Boserai name. I would be happy to share with you. I live in Natchitoches, LA. Where are you?

Boserai

In my findings I have found Louis Chachere(Died 1827) parents were Donluis Chacheresse and mother Marie C. Damond (Boserai) and her parents are Juan Batista Boserai and Marquerita Lestage. That is as far as I got with them. Now we are going back into the early 1700 - late 1600.

I thought that Louis's parents were Louis Charette de la Contrie and Marie Catherine Dumond. Louis Jr married Catherine Vauchere(y) and combined their last names to form Chachere. They were French exiles in Canada. Does this sound right?

part 2 of chachere

(got cut off from the 1st part)
Paternal grandparents were listed as LUIS CHACHERESSE and MARIA CATHERINE DAMOND (later spellings were "VANCHEREZ" and "DUMONT"). Maternal grandparents were listed as JUAN BAPTISTA BOSERAI and MARGUERITA LESTAGE. Father Don Pedro de Zamoro recorded the earliest baptism (of Julian - 1796).
So, if you or any one else can shed some light on this- please do so!!!!

Chachere (part 1)

Yes Donna, I have been told that story also and no one knows his true, real name for sure or where he came from. Now I have a Chachere that I would like to know where this person fits into the puzzle! If you or any one else out there can help - Great!
In the archives of St. Landry Catholic Church there is recorded in Baptism Book 1 the birth of a son, JULIAN CHACHERE born 1796. As at that time the parents of the child baptised had to give the manes of the grandparents of the infant, this is the first child-at least the first recorded.
Since the records at the time of the Spanish occupation were all kept in a spanish formation.
DON LUIS CHACHERESSE and CATHALINA BOSERAI are given as paarents of JULIAN CHACHERE. Paternal grand paarents were listed as Luis

Vauchere

Debbie see my message to Donna and if you can shed any light on this - please do so.
We are offsprings of the Velland Chachere branch - Henry Chachere end.

Hope this helps

I believe that the the grandparents are Louis and Catherine Chachere. They had several children. One is Lisle who married a Jean Leon Boutte. The Spanish may have written it as Juan Boutte. Juan married a Emerante David. They had a son Julien.

JULIAN

Donna,
The Julian I am looking for was born in 1796. The listing I have states he was a Chachere - being a male I am assuming he kept the Chachere part? I think the date is the key part of all this! Was he Louis "Chachere's" born about 1700 brother?

Julien

Julien was born 11/6/1796. I believe he was Louis's grandson
