I am looking for information on Daniel and Susan McDuffie. Daniel born abt. 1800 in Telfair Coutny, Ga. He and Susan Dixon married 4-4-1822. They moved back and forth from Florida to the Wilcox County area of Georgia. Their oldest son was John Dixon McDuffie born abt. 1823. I found Susan, age 55, on the 1860 Jefferson County census with three of their youngest children : Daniel 17, Charlotte 13, James 11. Daniel did not die until Nov. 1872 so I don't know why he was not listed in the house. Their other children included Murdock, Lawrence Manning, Nancy, Abigail, George, Sarah, Sophronia, Frances. If anyone has any information I would be very thankful.

John McDuffie's parents were Murdoch McDuffie and Abigail Currie. There is a great deal of info about the McDuffie Family in the book "The Passing Of The Pines - A History Of Wilcox County, Georgia- Vols I,II,& III" by Mary Lou McDonald.

I will be glad to look up info for you since I have all three volumns of the book.

Thank you for your response but John Dixon McDuffie was the oldest son of Daniel and Susan Dixon McDuffie. Murdock and Abigail Curry McDuffie had 11 children, Daniel was the oldest son, but none of them named John. I am trying to find the other children of Daniel and Susan Dixon McDuffie. I have a copy of "Passing of the Pines" but this information is not in there. If anyone has any information please respond. Thanks!
