Hi Julie; thanks for the reply.

I have no idea where my family roots originated
other than a family tree that was drawn up by someone, propbably
in my great-grandmother's era and was passed
down to my father.

This is the ascending order as best I can make it out:

My father: Gordon Percy Preston
My grandfather: Stanley Cadugan Preston (Dora)
My g-grandfather: Percy Preston (Annie)
My gg-grandfather: Joseph Thomas (Jane )
My ggg-grandfather: ?Stanley William ?
My gggg-grandfather: Henry John Preston - who was married to Sarah Susannah
Sarah Susannah was the daughter of Joseph Chamberlain and sister of Joseph Chamberlain , Arthur and Walter

Joseph Chamberlain(Sarah's brother)was the father of Austen, Beatrice and Neville Chamberlain. Neville was Prime Minister 1939 - 1940

Birmingham appears to be where the Chamberlain's resided but where Sarah and Henry Preston and all those who followed after were located, I do not know.

If you would like more info, please email me at karipreston@telusplanet.net. I really would like to fill in some of the blanks as to dates, etc.

Thanks

Regards, Kari

Kari, My greatgrandfather's name was Willaim Preston. He came from England to Canada and wound up in Chicago. He married Martha Clewett. His father's name was Thomas Preston who was born in England in abt 1821. His mother's name was Sarah Brunton also born in England about 1825. Does anything ring a bell.

Thanks for your message.I cannot,at the present, find any connection with our families as all `my` Prestons appear to have stayed in the staffordshire area of England.I shall of course keep you in mind if I find any that have moved. You may well hear from me again.
Regards,
Julie
