I am researching the Abram Shaver family. They settled in Hartland but may have migrated from Canada. Abram's wife was Emily. They had a son, William H., who was a prisoner at Andersonville. William and his wife, Candace Therresa Sherman Shaver, were the parents of my great grandmother, Minnie Belle Shaver June Tyson. Any info on this family would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks.

I am a grandaughter to Raymond F. Shaver whose father was Frederick Shaver from Hartland whose father was William Shaver and grandfather Abram Shaver. I was raised in Lockport until age 18 when I moved to North Carolina and have lived since. I also am presently involved in researching the family genealogy heritage and will be up to Lockport at the end of March where I will stay with my sister for 8 days. Kathy, one of my second cousins (once removed) is a great-granddaughter of Frederick Shaver, who was a brother of your great-grandmother Minnie Belle Shaver June Tyson. Frederick Shaver's wife was Agnes Carey.

My cousin's name is Judy. Judy and you are third cousins. You are both descendants of William H. Shaver and Candace Therresa Sherman Shaver (your and Judy's common great-great-grandparents), and therefore also of William H. Shaver's parents Abram and Emily Shaver (your and Judy's common great-great-great-grandparents).

Judy and I both grew up in Lockport, NY. We now both live in North Carolina.

I spoke with Judy a few minutes ago, and she will reply to your posting as well. Hopefully you and Judy can help each other learn more about the Shaver family.

I'd be interested in knowing of any Shaver information you give Judy. Although I'm not a Shaver descendant, I've been keeping Shaver information in my family history database.
