I am interested in any information on my great grandpartents Gustav J. Seibel and Anna (Annie) who immigrated to the US in 1880 from Germany. They located in Philadelphia, PA. They had seven children. My grandparents moved to the Los Angeles area where they lived and died. Last contact was from my dad's Aunt Ida (Benedict) from Montebello, CA in 1962 when my great grandmother died. Any information would be very much appreciated. Carrie M. in VA.

My grandmother Amanda Seibel, her father August Seibel, her mother Emma E> Hallmann(?), August's father Johannes Jost Seibel and August's mother Elizabeth Achenbach(sp?)from Germany. Johannes had other children. Searching archives for many years...August Seibel (my great grandfather) settled in eastern Iowa. Have heard family mention Gustave, Annie, and others... do not know if this is connected with your family.

Gustav and Anna are the parents of my grandfather, Joseph F. Seibel. (grandmother is Margaret A. Donnelly) Their son, Thomas J. Seibel was my father. They had 6 other children.

Thanks for your response with all the wonderful information. I am elated! This is great! Do you know anything/history about Gustav and Anna. I can't find any social security info. on Gustav following his death. The information I have is basically through census info., draft records and so on. I do have post cards, a few letters,etc. that my grandfather, Joseph Vang, had kept from his wife (my grandmother) Carrie Seibel who died at age 39 in 1936. Any info on who they were, what their life was like, etc. I was wondering what made them move to Corning, NY. That is where Joseph met and married Carrie. I would be glad to make you copies of the family stuff I have - do you have any family info. Any info on any of their children, etc. would be appreciated. Why did they move to California. I know Gustav was a pattern maker. My name is Carrie (named after my grandmother:) I was born and raised in Corning, NY. This adventure of discovering my relatives is so rewarding. I know my Great Great Grandfather was also named Gustav Seibel, however he was born in 1879, and later married Laura Wright. I wonder if there is any connection.

Hi! Thank you for your message. I don't believe that there is any connection here. My great grandfather married Annie (Kunzleman) and were married for 50 years. They were married when they were around 20 and had 7 children - one being my grandmother, Carrie. If you have any other info that would connect here, let me know. It's exciting to find family.
