I am looking for information on a great uncle by the name of Robert Simpson who died in a mine disaster in Drumheller. Don't know when - possibly 1920's. Any help appreciated.

I realize you wrote this a few years ago, have you had any luck finding a list of men that worked at Drumheller or who died in mining accidents. I believe a family member, William McKinnie (b. abt 1890 near Glasgow, Scotland; worked in the mines in the 1920s), also died in a mining accident at Drumheller. I can't find any documentation though. Have you had any luck? Thank you for any help.

Sarah

The Master Surname Index (not online) (mostly burials in Alberta cemeteries) of the Alberta Genealogical Society does not show a Robert SIMPSON for that approximate date, but it does lists this name;

William Seymore McKINNIE, 29 Apr 1890 - 17 Dec 1922 (killed at Gibson Mine) buried in the Drumheller cemetery.

Perhaps you should contact the Drumeller Geenealogy Club.
