Hello,

I am trying to find information about my ggrandfather's family. He was Wilhelmus Johannes Lafebre (later changed to Lefebre), born 1865 Tilburg Netherlands. He married Johanna Antonia Van Beers 1891 in Tilburg. Eight children were Antoinette, Nicolasina, Henricus, Marie, Francincus, Wilhelmina, Josephus, Petronella. Josephus was my grandfather.

Wilhelmus came to Canada abt 1911/1912 and eventually settled in Drumheller AB. His wife and younger children followed him abt 1917.

I know very little about Wilhelmus' parents/siblings etc and would appreciate any assistance/information. I am hoping especially to come into contact with existing family relations in the area who might have old family photos they would be willing to share.

There is a Dutch website that can help you find these people, go to:
Genlias.nl
In the topbar you find -zoeken in genlias-
choose the first in the dropdown – zoeken in genlias database-
in the eerste persoon [first person] type lefebre
in the tweede persoon [second person] type beers
click on zoeken
four hits (basically only two, because they appear twice
One of those is the marriage record Wilhelmus Johannes Lefebre and
Johanna Antonia van Beers
down on the page you will find the parents of the bride and the groom
[bruid and bruidegom]

Now do the same with those parents (only change lefebre into lafebre).
So Lafebre and Smits
In 1860 you see the marriage of that couple. If you check the rest of
the hits you will probably find some siblings, birth records or burial
records.

Now that you know the parents of this couple just do the same.
The only problem is, that it stops at 1811.

omit tussenvoegsel and type Wilhelmus Johannes in box voornaam
zoekwijze: klinkt als
scroll down and click "zoeken"

This will give you 15 results.
Click on one of the results and you see "inzien akte"
A new will open and you can access and download the original certificate / register

This site will also search in the databases of the archives of Roosendaal and West Brabant when you use the "zoek ook in function" .
