I am looking for more information on a Lydia C. Muir, born in Missouri in 1879, who married James M Rea in Chelan County in 1911. She was a widow of a James H. Muir, also from Missouri. She had a son, Robert, born in 1898. It looks like she was housekeeper for James M Rea (my great great grandpa) and then married him in 1911. James Rea died in 1912, leaving two children: William C. Rea and Evelyn Rea. Lydia was never mentioned in our family, so I am wondering what happened to her after James Rea's death in 1912.

I wasn't able to find Lydia or her son in Chelan County censuses, marriage or cemetery records after James Rea's death, or the Washington Death Index 1940-1996; I couldn't find them on the 1920 or 1930 censuses anywhere, but I was able to trace her first husband back to Scotland County, MO, and find Lydia's maiden name, which was Cox: http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&...
According to the 1900 census, Lydia was b. Sep 1877.

Thanks for the detective work! I had been trying to trace the first husband back, but hadn't had much luck.

I found Lydia and her first husband on the 1900 census:
1900 CO-Otero, Township 2 Precinct 1, ED 80, p. 4B.
And I checked WorldConnect on the chance that someone else that someone else had already worked on the family.
