Always be suspicious of any mail solicitations offering genealogical research and which have a post office box number and definitely make copies of all paperwork before you send it back. As far as I know, reputable genealogy research companies don't solicit business by mail.
An online search at google.com shows NO results for the Names History Centre. You might want to contact your local Better
Business Bureau and ask if they have any complaints or information. Also contact your local Postmaster and ask him/her if they have had any complaints. I think your state's Attorney General would be the person to contact for further questions or investigation.
You may or may not get some "token" book about the history of your surname, family coat of arms, etc. but I suspect you may have been scammed. I hope your father didn't invest a lot of money into this. If he paid with a check, look at the endorsement stamp on the back of the check (if it's been cashed)for address, banking institution where it was cashed or whatever.... If he paid with a credit card, contact your credit card company and get the details of how to dispute the charge and get it reversed.
