Looking for all the above. Seems like half of Lucca turned up in northern California and all married one another. I have hundreds of them from northern California. Am trying very hard to find earlier records in Lucca.

Records for Lucca, Lucca and Capannori, Lucca and Bagni Di Lucca are available at LDS Genealogy Libraries. Civil records start in 1866 when they became part of Toscana and at present go to 1935

I have spent 7 years and have several lines from address in USA back to 1770's

FYI people born 1790 and later died in 1866 and later Morti reflect fathers name.

there are libraries all over California, check for locations on family search sight

records are in Italian.

I too am looking for Lucca births and deaths. Most specifically Brucciano. Most specifically the last names of Vestri and Baldassari. My recoreds indicate that both mr gg grandmother died and buried in Brucciano in nov 1927 and my gg grandfather died somewhere in 1900 are buried there. Nay help would be appreciated.

I have been able to find the birth, death and marriage records of my family members from the Lucca area by mailing directly to the commune in which my family lived. It is quite simple and all you have to do is fill out the correct form found at the following web address (http://italy.usembassy.gov/acs/records.html). I always send money orders with my forms. There is not set price for the certificates and sometimes the communes give them to you for free if you live in a foreign country. I have done this 2 times now and have received the information very quickly. I thought this would be a long process but I actually got the papers back in the mail in less than 3 weeks. Since you know the town in which these records were recorded it should not be a problem obtaining the information and papers you need.

I had to find the address online somewhere for Capannori, I don't exactly remember where at(I think an online forum). But I think Brucciano is in the commune di Molazzana. I am not sure what the address is for the office there.

After 1815 it became a Bourbon-Parma duchy, then part of Tuscany in 1847 and finally part of the Italian State

records for 1852-1865 are found in Firenze Microfilm

if you knoe the DOB of a person, you can find it on microfilms. once found go 7 years each side for siblings DOB.

Once found go to the matrimoni index (Indice) and find the marriage of the parents to children.

the Matrimoni will reflect marriage couple age place of birth occupation along with parents names of both groom and bride along with their age and occupation.

once found go to Motro index (Indice) and find death records.

It takes time

there are genealogy lib. in Concord CA. Santa Monica, San Francisco and all over CA.

or take a vacation to Utah. for initial research of DOB and marriage should take about 5 hours.
