Media Items span multiple pages in Book Preview (FTMM2)
Although I can insert a photograph as a Text Item (!) and add a title beneath it, in a book, when I preview the book the heading is moved to the following page. How can i stop this happening. Also in the same senario how do I resize a photo while keeping proportions. Dragging from a corner, as instructed in the Companion Guide, does not do this and allows free resizing in all directions.

I haven't tried this in FTMM2, but 'usual' Mac practice to resize an object while retaining proportions is to hold down the shift key while dragging with the mouse. Worth a try, at least.

Tried this. It doesn't work.

Rats! You probably also tried the option and command (apple) keys as modifiers while re-sizing. The only other suggestion I have is to reduce the object BEFORE pasting it into your note.
To do this in Preview, first make a copy of your object with a different name and then work on the copy. Open the object (picture) in Preview and under the Tools menu, select Adjust Size⦠. Make sure the Scale proportionally box is checked ;) as well as the Resample image box. Reduce the width or height numbers by a guesstimate amount to reduce the size of the graphic and click OK. Copy the now-smaller graphic into your note.
Excuse me if this is all too basic; no offense intended.

Re: Media Items span multiple pages in Book Preview (FTMM2)
Hi, No problem. I use Photoshop to restore photos so I'm OK with resizing generally. I'm trying to include images of censuses as large as possible with a simple one line title beneath. I'd rather not create two copies of every single image (a full size one and a reduced one for FTM books.
It would be nice to just include the image as a 'Media Item' but this gives all sorts of headings which i don't need and cannot eliminate (and you still cannot resize the image to fit!), so I'm having to include the images on Text pages - one per page.
