My great-greatgrandfather was Senator Ben Boynton in Texas. His daughter Carrie Boynton Scruggs was my greatgrandmother She lived in Weatherford Tx. until her death. Her daughter Louise Scruggs Batey was my fathers mother. My father died when I was four I can't find out much about family . Trying to follow all leads.

I believe you may have found a connection. My husband's ggmother was Carrie Boynton Scruggs, married to Benjamin Franklin Scruggs. They had 5 children; Harold (my husband's gfather) Ruby, Evelyn, Frank, and Mary Louise. Harold had 4 children; Joe, Maurice, Helen, and Jean. Joe was my husband's father. hello cousin, We are related. I can remember laying on Uncle Harolds lap and he would blow cigar smoke in my ears. I had bad earaches and that made them feel better. or so I thought. To this day I love the smell of cigars because it reminds me of him. My father was Roy Batey, son of Mary Louise Scruggs Batey. Who are you . I remember some cousins. Remember Troy and Helen very well. I recently moved back to Texas from Missouri. My mother passed away almost two years ago. I live across the street from Judy Williams( also a granddaughter of Mary Louise. Love to hear from you soon. Love Janl

I saw an older post from 2001... We may be of the same Boynton line... You mentioned a Carrie Boynton. Did she have a brother Frank and a father named Alonzo?

I am a descendant of the boyntons from georgia and texas. many records were lost in the civil war and I am having a hard time tracing this line. Any info would be appreciated.

My ggrandmother was Carrie Boynton. She married Benjamin Franklin Scruggs. She lived in texas. I have started a family tree if you are interested. It is called the Batey Tree. Look under family trees. My grandmother Mary Louise Scruggs Batey was Carrie boyntons child and she married a Batey. My maiden name is Batey . That is why i listed it under Batey family tree. check it out and she if this gives you any info. Jan

Hi, I am a Boynton descendant. My grandfather William Carson Boynton lived in Texas as a child but his family originally was from Georgia. I don't know if that will help you.
