Looking for Angela ,sister of Michael last known living in Virginia ,adoption done through Mormon LDS Church in Hamliton,NY.
She was born in Maine .
She was put up for adoption along with her brother under very unusual events,
Her birth mother has spent the last 30 years looking for her and any help would be appreciated , Thank you

Hamilton, NY, is the home of Colgate University. Could there be a connection with the college and her adoptive parents?

WHat sort of "unusual events" were part of her adoption?

Angela & her brother Michael were put up for adoption at the LDS church as an "open" adoption and they were suppose to stay together . Soon afterwards the birth mother were told "open" wasn't going to happen. Michael has been found and he says the kids were seperated soon after they were put up for adoption.
Micahel says his adoptive mother shortly before her death found Angela living in Virgina. Angelas mother at that time thought it best not to include Michael in her life.Hopefully Angela can be found .

I would have him contact the LDS church to see about opening his and his sisters records for ID information. He could also have a type written message with his current contact information added to his and her adoption records in case she search's later.

I am assuming since his mother found Angela living in Virgina she must have had an address or telephone number
and a name for Angela's adoptive mother so you might have Michael look through his mothers records to find that information.

The question is how did his adoptive mother get that information? From the LDS church or from the state?

You might also want to check with the state where he and she was adopted to see if they have open records or any type of contact information.

That should take you to the state adoption records website where you can find information, telephone numbers and ask questions.

If Michael's adoptive mother could come up with Angela's adoptive mothers telephone number or address and name then I am sure you could find that same information.

ThanK you for replying. Mike has contacted Lds church and they won't open the records unless all partys involved give written permission. He has left a written updated name and address contact list attached to his records. He was young when his sister was found and doesn't remember where.
His adoptive mother has died and no one can find any information that she may have written down about his sister. So we are at a brick wall. Thanks

Since you know her date of birth, have you sent for a list of all girls born on that date? There are places that will supply you with one of these, and you can go from there.

What are the laws in the state of Utah as far as getting information about one's adoption? Is there a registry for adoptees and siblings, or a way to get non identifying information?

Where did Michael's adoptive mother get his sister's name? Maybe there were adoption papers left!
