Looking for the parents of George W Smith 1844-1914

Married First: Jane Elizabeth "Jennie" Belt

Married Second: Mary Rebecca Belt

At least two children, possibly four. Manerva and Mary Elizabeth Smith with Jane.

The Belts lived near the George Smith Farm, but I do not find a direct connection between the elder George Smith and this George. I want to beleive he was a relative of some sort but do not see him in 1870/1860 census.

Jane is 18 living with her father still in 1880. Trying to trace this Smith line which I feel MUST be connected to James Smith who married her sister Stacia Belt but so far I can not confirm...

I'm Sorry...I dont understand your reply?

They lived in Fairfield County OHIO of course, that is why I posted in this forum????

THey resided in Pleasant Township in what is now the neighborhood around Sanderson School...BOth Jane Elizabeth Belt and George Smith are buried in Asbury Cemetery behind the school...

Old land atlas from 1875 shows T. Belt lands near George Smith lands but I can not find a connection to MY Geroge Smith...Yet I feel they must somehow be related...My George is not listed in ANY of the censuses in that location....1850-1860-1870-1880...

Janes father is Tillman Belt...I have the entire Belt line back to 1600...I dont need that...

I am looking for the parents of one GEORGE W. SMITH, born in 1844, died in 1918...He was the parent of Mary Elizabeth Smith Wilson...

I was simply trying to connect with other SMITH researchers to see if they have my George in their line...Thanks...
