I am trying to trace Tillie Grove Warburton's burial place. I found her in the Victor, Teller Co., CO 1900 Census and after that nothing. Fred was found later that same year in San Bernadino County, CA, without her. Does anyone know of a list of burials for the Victor Cemetery? I have googled and searched and found some interesting stuff but none of it tells me where she died or where she was buried. Any body have a clue? Thanks

Here is an interesting link that refers to a Fred Warburton involved with the Cripple Creek Labor Dispute in 1904, haven't found Tillie yet.

Thank You. I went through almost all of the cemetery lists and didn't find Fred. Do you remember which cemetery he was buried in? I another message I received it said he was involved in the mining riots around that time. And was beaten. Wonder if he died from that? Thanks again.

Thank You for that information. I think that would be good to include in my tree. Another person said he was listed in a cemetery list and died around that same time. Maybe from being beaten? If that is so, then the Fred I found in California cannot be him. Thanks again.

No, he did not die from the beating. There is an article in the Denver Post dated July 8, 1904 with a picture of the men after they arrived after being kicked out of Victor. I have a PDF of the Denver Post article but I can not attach it here, give me a email address and I can send it to you. I suspect he did go to California as he could probably not safely return to Victor.

That was a interesting article thanks for posting the link. Do you know who did the research on it. During that period my Great grandfather was the Street Commisioner in Victor. He died shortly after, some say from injuries sustained in the riots. He is in Victor Cemetery Elk Rest section. I would be interested to know who has done research on this period as I still have some questions.
Do you know?
Thanks Teri

Shawna might. She is the one who put the link on. I really didn't know anything about this before putting my first query on. Very interesting what you find out. Another part of a person's history, I guess. I hadn't even known that they did mining in that part of Colorado back then. Guess I need to do more research on mining in our country. Hope you find your answer.

Hi Teri,
There is quite a bit of info on the web regarding the Colorado Labor Wars of 1903-1904. There have been books written on the subject. I searched using the phrase "colorado labor wars".
Good luck,

Shawna
