Hi Sue,

I am wondering if this could be my grandfather. We knew him as Ernest William Berry--but--we believe he changed his name. ?When and why this occured is proving a challange as well as a mystery. All his children carry Norris as their middle name. I have some information that he was born Thomas Ernest Norris in London on 16th February 1893 (but still trying verify) dying in Australia in 1972. My Aunts, now elderly know of some of his siblings - Charlie, Beatrice and William but there may be others and they are vague as to birth order.
On his death certificate his mother is listed as Liza with no mention of father.
I know it has been many years since you posted this information so am hoping you can help me further in my search and am curious to know what is mentioned in the paper.

Kindest regards Carol

Hello Sue,

Sure send the lot, happened such a long time ago-as I mentioned it's a mystery, especially at this end! Name changes, immigration eventually to Australia. The family say he never talked about his past, though wrote to his sister occasionally-----so who knows.
Thankyou and best wishes
Carol

Hello again Sue,

I am still trying to find a connection with the newspaper article--but to date no success. Also having a lot of difficulty in finding anything about him or his family. I know he had a sister Beatrice and brother Charlie, was just wondering if maybe you had come across anything in your searches. His mothers name on death certificate is Liza, but that could be a derivative. Living in Australia makes it difficult to go to Kew and search the archives.

Kindest regards
Carol
