Surnames: Scott Johnson Daniels Banks James Richards Felson Burrel
Hello,
I am looking to unravel the mystery of a family Bible I found.

The names in the Bible indicate it could possibly belong to descendants of John & Margaret (Banks) Scott (Married in 1878) of Grimes County, Texas.

31 different individuals are listed in the Bible, but only one relationship is given: Grandma Kitty Banks.

According to the 1900 & 1910 Census, a family matching the description, and many of the names and dates lived in Grimes County, TX Precinct 6. The 1920 census shows the same family (minus the head of household, John Sr.) living in the same Precinct, but specifies the street as "Courtnay and Retreat Road"

I am looking for help sorting out the rest of the names in the Bible, and identifying the relationships.
Thank you so much in advance!
A transcription is below.

Public trees document the Scott(s) of Grimes County. Notable: "Dickey, McGee, Brown" owned by rickeybolden1. Viewable: ancestry.com/family-tree/person/tree/7476922/person/6124683273 Quality of research questionable 'cause grandma Kitty Banks from the bible is not displayed. She was possibly a central figure in the family? She's found in 1880 Grimes with husband Phillip and daughter Bettie. Phillip Banks registered to vote, 27 Jan 1868, but the family was not found in 1870. John Scott wed Margaret Banks and Primas Richards wed Fannie Banks. However, the 1870 Census is needed to establish kinship.

Thank you. This gives me some places to look I had not looked before.
I am looking at Primas Richards family (Wife: Fannie, Children: Banks, Ellen, Maggie, Susan) on the 1880 Census (Grimes County pg 14) and they were living next door to John and Maggie Scott.

Additionally, if the Kitty Banks that was married to Phillip Banks is the correct Kitty, then that would make her 94 years old at the time the Bible lists her death in 1908, if her age on the 1880 census is correct.

Refer to your transcription and beginning with "Little Walter Scott". Walter, Mollie, and Alfred Scott were probably born to John Scott/Margaret Banks but died prior to census enumeration? Ditto "Little Bettie Scott"? Reasonable 'cause they would have been the four children missing from 1900 Grimes-Precinct 6-District 25-Image 9? Everyone from "Little Walter" through "Little Annie Scott" were siblings. Consuela and Audrey W. Scott were sisters born to Jerry Elmo Scott and Priscilla/Percilla Jenkins, thus grandchildren of John and Margaret. Both graduated college and were employed by the Dallas School System. Audrey W. Scott (31 Mar 1919 - 3 May 1955) has online death certificate witnessed by Mrs. C. S. Desha aka Consuela-sister. Their mom is the last person on your transcription. Margaret Scott was mother to the 12 identified children.

Daniels: Willie L., Jesse J., George, and Roosevelt were siblings born to Henry Daniels and Margaret Wheatfall or Renshaw. Uncertain of their connection to the Scott, Banks, etal?

Primas Richards' daughter, Maggie/Margaret, wed Wade Burrell. Thus parents of Roosevelt and others. Alf/Alfred/Alford Felson has census data but some of it is distorted beyond interpretation.

Yes, in regards to Little Walter through Little Annie, that is what I have in my notes.
Where did you find the information on Consuela and Audrey? I had been unable to confirm that they were Jerry's children. I can see that Jerry ended up in Harris County, Texas.
The 1920 Census lists Margaret Scott as Head of House. Son: John M; Daughters: Ida, Rosanna, Mattie, Frederick (Son), Annie. Nephew: Lewis Johnson, Granddaughters: Consueala, Willie M.
This infers that Lewis Johnson Sr (d. Aug 17 1917) was probably married to the listed Mrs. Bettie Johnson (died May 9, 1918) and that Bettie was either a sister of Margaret or John Sr. This takes care of the Johnson connection.
The listed Willie M Scott on the census I'm not sure about. Obviously, Jerry lived in the next household, so his connection makes sense.

I do not know enough about how families worked at this time period in this part of Texas. Is it possible that Margaret (whose Bible I think this must have been) would have recorded the births and deaths of an extended church family?
Who took over recording in the Bible after Margaret passed away (in other words, who became the next head of household?).

Thank you for your help!

Willie M. Scott aka Audrey Wilhelmina daughter of Jerry Elmo. Makes sense 'cause he registered for WWI Draft and identified wife plus two as reasons for deferment, 5 Jun 1917. Occasionally, first and middle names are reversed on enumerations. Visualize "Willie M." as "Wilhelmina". Audrey's death certificate confirms Jerry and Priscilla as parents. I believe I saw the sisters boarding in 1930 or 1940 Waller County. Prairie View A & M is a historically black college established in Waller. Online death certificate Lewis L. Johnson (19 Oct 1908 - 28 Jun 1933) died in auto accident per Ida B. Scott, informant. He was son of Bettie Banks/Lewis Johnson, Sr. That's same Bettie Banks found with Phillip and Kitty in 1880. Bettie wed 1 Feb 1881 in Grimes.
