Hi Laura. I just started digging into my family history not too long ago. I haven't found anything yet as far as relatives in Ireland. Hi Laura, My grandmother's maiden name was Commins. She was from Broher, Curry Coo. Sligo. Her mother's maiden name was Finn.
Does that ring a bell with you?

My great-grandfather's name was Michael Vincent Commins (born about 1870)and he came from Co Sligo. Please get in contact if you wish. There are a large number of us all living in Cape Town, South Africa.

Not as far as I know. We think our family came to SA from Ireland (Sligo?) at the end of the 19th century. There may have been two forms of spelling, Commins and Cummins, but I cannot be sure of that.
