I am searching for parents, siblings, ancestors, birthplace of William Washington Evans, b. May 1, 1844. He married Eliza Virginia Boatright of Madison County on August 10, 1865. William and Eliza moved to Bryan County, Oklahoma and raised 8 children, one of whom was our grandmother Rowena Kay Evans, b. Nov.6, 1882. Our oral family history says that he was of Choctaw heritage. Might you have a connection? Thanks for any help. Susan

I'm not sure if I can help or not. In the 1850 census of
Madison Co.,Prairie Township, AR there is an Archibald and Nancy Evans. They list a son, William age 7. This would be the approximate age of your William. It shows Archibald Evans, age 41 farmer birthplace TN. Wife Nancy 38 b.TN
James 20,b.TN,Elizabeth 18,b.TN.Nancy 15 b.TN, Marcy 13 b. KY,Levi 10,b.MO,William 7,b.MO,Susan 5,b.AR, Francis 3,b.AR and Martha 5months,AR. My family William and Delila Evans are living at Dwelling 107 and Archibald is living at 104. Our oral history also mentions "native american" through this line. I have unable to uncover the link however. Idon'tknow if this helps or not.

I have Harrison relatives that lived in Madison County, Arkansas. Margaret Harrison lived in Richlad Township with her children; Nancy, Mary, John, Tolitha, William, Viola (my ggrandmother), Catherine and Alex. Have very limited information on the family, so any information you might have would be greatly appreciated if you are familiar with any of these people.Viola eventually married and spent the rest of her life in Missouri
