My Fesslers are from Mt Angel, Marion Co, OR.
They came here in the 1880s from Carver Co, MN.
My gr grandfather was Meinrad Fessler. He was one of several sons of Zacharias Fessler, who all came from Switzerland. They all appear to have came into MN and then moved to parts unknown. Three brothers came to Mt Angel area. There may be some that moved to Wisconsin. One moved to OK in 1900. I am currently working with several other Fessler cousins on this name. The name was Fassler in Switzerland. I would love to exchange data with you. Do you have the parents of your Albert?

My husband's grandmother, Mary Fessler, was from Mt. Angel, OR. Her father was Frank Fessler, b: 1858 in MN and his father was Martin Dominic Fessler. I understand Frank's father died when he was young and his brothers and sisters were raised by their stepfather (who was their uncle Zacharius). They came from Switzerland then MN. Frank married Caroline Winkleman and they had Mary Fessler, b: 1886. There were eight brothers and sisters, some may have married Vulysteke and Zimmerman. Mary Fessler married John Wunderlich b: 1881, who were my hustband's grandparents. We would be happy to share any information we have.

Hi, I know it's been several years since you posted this but I just found it and was surprised to see the name Meinrod Fassler. My uncle was named Meinrod Fassler and came to this country in 1902 with his brother Frank. They settled in the Dixon, Illinois area. They were from Steinerberg, Swhwyz, Switzerland. While I can see this isn't the same Meinrod you mentioned in your message, I was wondering since it is not a common name, maybe they are from the same family in Switzerland. Their parents were Johann and Marianna (Styger)and they had brothers, Bernhard, Xavier, and Johann

Theresa, I saw your posting about the Fessler Family on orgenweb.org at this location.

Your gr grandfather Meinrad Fessler could be the brother of my gr gr grandfather Martin Dominic Fessler, b 1824 (unless my gr gr uncle Meinrad had a son named Meinrad. This really can get confusing without dates.). Zacharias Fassler, b 1791, was my gr gr gr grandfather and he was married to Theresia Steiner, b 1797. What was the birth date of your gr grandfather

I just got back from the LDS family research center in Salt Lake City with a whole bunch of ancestor stuff which I'm starting to put together. This is all new for me but kind of fun. My wife has been collecting information on her side of the family for years. For instance, Zacharias's dad I believe was Felix Severin Fassler, b 1760, and his mother was Katharina Kalin, b 1760.

Do you have any information on the Zacharias Fassler and Theresia Steiner ancestors? I think I have 3 or 4 generations of names and some dates. Not verified, not organized, not guaranteed, but something to start from. If you have info, we could compare to see where the differences/similarities exist.

Anyway, I saw your post and thought maybe this email might be good and I'd send you a note.
