I'm looking for information on George Rippberger. He immigrated to the US in abt 1846. He would have been a young boy at the time, but I can't find any immigration records on him. I am interested in his parents as well as any info one has on his connection with the Rippberger's in Ridott, IL

There was a George Rippberger in Chicago that married Julia Derbick on 6/13/1877. Marriage certificate may shed some light on who his parents were (http://www.ilsos.gov/GenealogyMWeb/marrsrch.html)

A man of the same name died in Lake County 6/6/1920 (http://www.ilsos.gov/GenealogyMWeb/IDPHDeathSearchServlet).

It appears that julia died 06/18/1897 in Chicago.

Sorry but I don't have any other info. I figured you may not be aware of the IL databases that are online and did a quick look for George. (after I looked at the census to find out the given name of his wife and where they were living)

George Rippberger was born Apr. 23, 1837 in Bruhl,Baden, Germany. He was married twice, to Louise Schilling and Julia Debick. His Parents were George Rippberger (b. Apr.17, 1812 and Anna Maria Spernagle. The came to the US around 1850 and settled in Kane Co., IL. The family stayed near the Chicago area (Kane, Cook and Lake Counties.
George (the senior) had a brother, Adam. Adam brought his family here about the same time and settled in Stephenson Co. (Ridott) Adam's family strayed to Ogle Co., IL, Iowa, Minnesota and Texas.
Because the Ill. Central RR ran between Kane and Stephenson Counties, Adam and George's families were able to stay in close contact.

I am trying to find information on my Ancesters John Rippberger from Prussia and Annie Rippberger from Mecklenberg. They are located on the Census for 1880 4th Ward of Elgin in Kane County, Ill. Page 49, S.D.# 2, E.D.# 86. I beleive John's Father was George Rippberger married to a Mary or Maria also from Germany. I found George in the 1850 Census of Hanover, Cook County and in the 1870 Census of Plato, Kane County, Ill. Page 14. Is there anyone who can help me find out more info on these people?

George and Mary's children were:
Enoch 1840, Abraham 1842, John 1844, Adam 1846, Louise 1849, Charles 1850, Henry 1853, George 1855.

thanks
