Hello all. I am currently at a standstill with my family tree. I am looking for descendants of my grandfathers sisters. They are from Podersdorf, Austria.......which was Podersdorf, Austria-Hungary, and also Patfalu, Hungary.
My grandfather Joseph John Gisch born 3/12/1890 (probably Josef Johann) came to the USA (St. Joe, IA) in 1908 from Podersdorf, Austria-Hungary. He immigrated with his two brothers in early 1900s, Benedikt, Lorenz, and one sister Katherine. They left behind 7 living sisters whose families are still living in the Podersdorf, Austria area. They are: Magdalena Steiner (married Stefan Steiner) , Karoline Steiner Waba (married Heinnch "Henry" Steiner), Josephus Gisch, Eva Gisch, Theresa Steiner (married Franz Steiner), Stefanie Seig (married Ignatz Seig), and Maria Zeiss (married Edward or Lorenz Zeiss). Most of these sisters married and have descendants in and around Podersdorf, Austria.

I have a great-great aunt eva lentsch whom married a lawerence gisch around 1908 in livermore I.A. I would welcome any info and documents you have , and am willing to share photos of the lentsch family left by my grandmother,who's father joseph was eva's sibling. You may find some Lencz or Lentz in Ksclod or varoslod , veszprem megye hungary close to burgenland. god bless.

Do you happen to have any information on a Melchior Steiner born in or around 1864? A cousin believes he was born in either Podersdorf or Pamhagen.

I´m not sure, if you will find "zeiss" in podersdorf anymore..... but for sure you find them in "mönchhof" (very close to podersdorf)

Eva Lentsch was my great-grandmother. I've got some information on her history and ancestors, if you're still searching. I'm going to be making a trip to Austria next year, and am thinking to stop by Podersdorf to see if there's any relatives still in the town. Have you found any in your search?
