Re accessing info in "The Boston Transcript" - obviously you can't. Unless you happen to live near the repository.

I finally learned that extracts from the Boston Transcript may be purchased (pages) - what I received was notices posted in the Boston Transcript by those searching for my Rufus Deming who died in CA in 1880 - these requests were posted looking for him in the early 1900s - without any way of knowing who was hoping to find him about thirty (30) years after he died.

I would love to know who wanted to find him - one of his children who moved to Wisconsin after he moved to CA? Hmmm.

I'm curious: how much did it cost to get the pages from the "Boston Transcript", and was any of the information useful?

I would appreciate it if you could tell me how you went about obtaining the pages from the Boston Transcript. I have a relative (Jesse Smith) who shows up there.
