While reserching my surname genealogy a year ago, I discovered a book for sale, "More About The Riggs Family 1590-1973 / Duggan", at www.bookgarden.com. After purchasing and reading, I had found that it did'nt help in my immediate reserch but what I did find was the knowledge and dedication it takes to put your work into a book form. I have since purchased and am reading four other reprinted Riggs books from www.higginsonbooks.com. "Genealogy Of The Riggs Family Vol.1 / Wallace / 1901"; "The Riggs Family Of Maryland / John Beverley Riggs / 1939"; "Our Pioneer Ancestors Of Riggs And Allied Families / Henry Earle Riggs / 1942"; "Some Descendants Of Isaac And Mary Riggs / Rich / 1976". At the presant time I've "hit the wall" in Ontario / Steuben Cnty. NY 1818 with James L. L. Riggs, and am not sure where my quest will lead me, but those books are proudly displayed. When ever I look at them I can't help but think we are all cousins that can be proud of the Riggs heritage in America. What other name draws such an intrest? Would'nt it be fun to have a National Riggs Reunion? Rent downtown Chicago, or Woodstock NY?

Hi Frank.

Do any of your books mention any RIGGS families in England in the 1700s please?

I'm looking for the origins of William & Mary RIGGS, estimated b abt 1744. They had (at least) 3 children, of whom 2 d in 1771 & 1772 (probably young), in Reading, Berks., where the other, Ann, was chr in 1768. She m James DUFFIN of nearby Tilehurst.

Many thanks, and compliments of the Season. Jay
