I have been researching my mother's family for years. They were Milsteads and lived in the Parkersburg, WV area. There is a cousin of hers that lived here who married Layor Whitehair. I have lots of information on their family and have some odds and ends of Whitehairs but I'm not sure how they fit. I will check this message board for your reply. I have no web address at home. Hi, I saw your posting on the Whitehairs in West Virginia. My great grandfather was Charles Rome Filmore (Phillip) Whitehair. The Whitehairs where well scattered over West Virginia and there seems to be enough of them. I am trying find as much Whitehair info. as possible. Phillip's father was John Whitehair and his mother was Roseanna Dillon. I was wondering if it would be possible to get a copy of what information you might have.

Layor Whitehair and his wife Lydia Milstead are my great-great-grandparents. When my mother was alive she told me a little about him, but not much. I remember her telling me that when Lydia passed away he just up and left and no one knew where he went to. I don't have any information on either one. If you have anything to share please let me know.
