Looking for information on Helen S. Grover, her spouse George Myers and children. I believe Helen is the daughter of Alonzo Grover (1834-1921) and Ruby Ann Hammond (1837 to 1918). Helen Grover married George Myers. I think their children were Ann(e) Maria Myers, Abbie E. and Samuel. Ann Maria Myers married Arthur Henry Wyllys 1865-1945. George Myers lived in Weston Mills, Cattaragus Co., NY in late 1890's. Alanzo Grover and Rudy Ann Hammond are buried in Rutledge Cemetary, Conewango, Cattaragus Co., NY. Any information would be appreciated.

I have the names GROVER and WYLLYS connected with Conewango Twp., NY. Cyrus CHILDS was an early pioneer of Conewango with his second wife, Mariam (Wyllys) widow of Russell SYLVESTER She was the daughter of Amasa WYLLYS. Cyrus' son, Alden CHILDS, married Lucinda GROVER abt. 1826. Lucinda was born Mar. 1805 Vermont, died 1870 Conneaut, Ashtabula Co., OH. I have not been able to trace her parents.
Please let me know if any of these names are familiar to you. Sally

Yes, I am related. Amasa Wylys was born in 1747 at Easton, Mass and died in 1818 in Chesterfield, Mass. I have family history going both back and forward. He was my grandmither's great-great-great grandfather. Lynne

Re: Grover, Myers, Wyllys
Not sure I can help you, but I can give you a place to look. Go the Portville Historical Society online and you may find information there. You can also try the Cattaraugus County Historical Society and you may find information there. Both places are in Cattaraugus County within six miles of each other. In between is Westons Mills which is a dot as you drive through. Nothing more that a very small Hamlet, its where I call "home". Good Luck Donna
