Searching for the ancestors and descendents of David S. CAMPBELL (born TN abt. 1819). He is listed as receiving a Land Grant in Red River County in 1839 as part of his participation in the Republic of Texas. He also serves as a witness for William CAMPBELL's Land Grant in the same year. The actual location of the land for both William and David is in what is now Titus Co. It has been suggested that they lived in the community of Shiloh in Titus Co. Later he is listed in the 1850 Census of Lamar Co. TX as married to a Francis (born AL. abt.1819). David dies Aug.19, 1850. In the 1860 Census Francis is living next to son-in-law J.F.R. WILLIAMS (he marries Sarah J. Campbell in 1860). Francis CAMPBELL dies in 1912. David and Francis CAMPBELL'S children, all born in old Red River Co. TX are:
James E. b. 1841 TX
Sarah J. (Susan) b. 1842 TX
Margaret b. 1844 TX
Martha E. b. 1845 TX

William CAMPBELL of Lamar Co., TX is probably his brother (b. AL Abt 1832). He marries Elizabeth S. [b. abt. 1831 NC.] Their children are:

Nancy E. abt. 1850 TX

Mary abt. 1854 TX

W. F. abt. 1856 TX

Richard abt. 1858 TX

J. R. abt. 1859 TX

The mother of David and William is probably Mary (b. abt 1793, VA) and sister is Mary A. (b. Abt 1838, AL). The father is unknown to me at this time.

Help with the ancestors and descendents will be appreciated. I have the history on the descendents of Sarah and J.F.R. WILLIAMS and will be most happy to share.
