Lest anyone think that Ancresty and the various ISPs have solved the problem of non-delivery of the e-mail version of Ancestry Daily News, let me assure you they have not.Since early December the only issues I have received are: Feb 5, Feb 13, Feb 27 and Mar 7. I also received an e-mail from Gary shortly before I received the Mar 7th issue. However, it's now March 16th and nothing is happening. But I guess no one cares.

I don't know if you can help or if this is for this but here goes. I am looking for information on John Bethel Chandler 12-27-1855. Born Va. Father William Chandler. Mother died when around 3 or 4. Raised by Nancy and George W. James. Thought to be Grandparents but could be Aunt and Uncle. They lived in Carroll County, Tenn. from 1858 till around the 1870's. John Bethel more siblings but know of only Robert Cleveland Samuel Chandler whose mother was Helen Shelton. Robert was born in HoneyGrove, Texas 11-6-1885. Helen came and found John in Limestone County, Ala. when Robert was around 13. Later Robert came to live with him when he was 16. John Bethel Chandler married Viola Russel in 1893 in Ala. They later moved to Paris, Texas. They had several children. I know that Robert's Daddy's name was William. Any information would be appreciated. Bertha Perkins

Your reply has nothing to do with my question and comments. Is Ancestry really that screwed up?

I can't vouch for the query that got posted, but I doubt if it was posted by a staffer.

The Daily News has had difficulty getting the ADN past various spam filters that some ISPs have set up. They have been trying to fix the problem.

The initial response was to blame AOL, as is quite often is, but judging from the various e-mail addresses that Juliana Smith is so very kindly distributing copies of the Ancestry Daily News to, the problem is much more wide-spread than AOL and it sort of indicates that Ancestry has a lot of work to do to solve the problem. With the demise of the monthly print edition of Ancestry Daily News, getting the e-mail version distribution solved should be of primary importance to Ancestry.Com.

Just adding my two cents worth here. It is now May 5 and I am still not receiving the daily email newsletter. Nothing has changed with my email account, no spam filters added.

Juliana Smith, editor of ADN is very kindly sending the daily newsletter to dozens of us. According to Juliana, the problem is being worked on. However, it's difficult to understand why this is all taking so long. Looking at the list of addresses that Juliana is sending the newsletter to, it's quite clear that the problem is not an AOL, Hotmail or any other service provider's. It just has to be something wrong with Ancestry's system.

Tom,
Thanks for the reply. I'd like to be added to the list of recipients if Julianna isn't already overwhelmed.
