Hello
I have researching the family name of Stuerzer. My grandfather Fredriech Stuerzer or Sturzer came to the United States in the early 1900's from Romania. His family lived in Transyvalnia,His mother name was Regina, he also had a brother named John. His father name was Fredriech. My grandfather was born in Aug of 1887. If anyone has information on this family would be of great help because I'am at a stand still on this side of the family.
Thank you

In your "Steerzer/Brazelton Family Tree" (public tree), you show you have already found ancestry's documents including 1930 census, naturalization index and especially the WW1 draft card, which has his birthplace as Schaessburg (Sighisoara). You could also have mentioned that his mother's maiden name was Gott (another public tree has Gutt, which is a more likely spelling).

Fred was already in the USA (Youngstown OH) when his younger brother John planned to come (ship 'Trave', arrived New York NY 14 Sep 1907, but John's entry is cancelled)

I think I found Fred's passenger list, listed as Fritz Stürzer, baker, arriving in New York 11 Jan 1905 on the 'Kronprinz Wilhelm', last residence Segesd (Schaas or Saes, which is just south of Schaessburg), final destination Youngstown OH (uncle Georg Schuller)

With full names for Friedrich Steerzer's parents (Friedrich Stuerzer & Regina Gutt) and a place, Schaessburg (or Schaas), you may get more replies.

Queries should include as much relevant information as possible. It was a pain searching resources, and then finding that you already had them.

Thank you for the information. One thing that I do know is John was older than Friedrich. The spelling of my Great Grandmother's maiden name makes more sense being Gutt and not Gott.If there is anymore information that you could help me with would be great. Thank you Lisa
