My great-great grandmother was Rebecca Shores. She was married to James H. Hunt from S.C. She was the daughter of Elijah Shores & Margaret Maddox. Elijah's other children were: Frances, Martha Ann(Charles Luker), Mary, Jordan, Nancy, James Madison, Wingate Jesse, & Margaret. I think that several Shores married into the Luker family. Some are buried at Rock Springs Cemetery. Can anyone tell me the spouses & children of these Shores?
Does anyone have any info on James C. Hunt? He was born abt. 1826 in S.C. Who were his parents & siblings? Where in S.C.? I was told that he & Rebecca are buried at New Harmony Christian Church, but I have been there & did not find their graves. They may be unmarked. Does anyone know where they are buried?
Thanks for any help.
Diane

Great pictures! Thank you. I believe that Elijah Shores may be buried there in an unmarked grave. He lived in that same area.

Rebecca Shores and James Hunt are my great grandparents. They are buried at New Harmony Church. A Confederate marker was recently placed on his grave. Rebecca is buried next to him in an unmarked grave.
