My gggreat grandfather, John HALL,B.1754 from pittsylvania Co. Virgina, had my ggreat grandfather,Jesse, B. 1786 in Wilkes Co. Ky. My family always said one of these married an indian. I don`t know if these people are related. Could the John you`re asking about be Jesse`s brother? I`m new at Genealogy, but I would love to trace my people as far as possible.

Mygggrandfather William Hanks who I believe was Choctaw/Cherokee married Elizabeth Louisa Hall, who was also supposed to be Choctaw. Her father was william Hall and I believe he is the same William Hall who appears on the Choctaw Anderson Rolls. Oh! I failed to mention that they lived in Montgomery Co., Ky. and I be4lieve for a while in Powell Co., Ky.

William's father Fielding was a famous hunter. Fielding's sister and William Hanks' Aunt Nancy was Abraham Lincoln's mother, according to Adin Baber. Adin Baber's daughter is updating one of his books at this time, and it should be out soon: "Hanks Family Of Virginia, Westward". Please get back with me especially if you have more information on the Hall family.

I am wondering if you have followed your STAMPER ancestors back to the 18th century in NC and if you have a Miss STAMPER who married a John Church, who was from somewhere in New England. They would have married around the mid 1750s probably.
