I am trying to find my paternal grandmother, Margaret Frances Ridley [Smyth] Drysdale, her mother Jane Smyth and family I think they lived in Caroline, and would like to find any information on them. Also the marriage of Margaret to John Millar Drysdale, their only living child told me that they were married in Alberta where exactly we do not know but think it would have been Calgary as three of their 5 children were born there. Margaret born in Ireland, came to Canada sometime in 1906 as reported on her death certificate.

In the publication "Albeta Index to Birth, Marriage and Death Registrations prior to 1900" I find a Margaret SMYTH, married 14 Nov 1906 in Calgary. It does not say who she married.There is no Drysdale in the index.

On the Western Homestead Index, on the AGS site, http://abgensoc.ca/ ,
I find John Miller Drysdale, in the area of Caroline.

Then on the ArchiviaNet Western Land Grants, http://www.collectionscanada.ca/02/02011102_e.html ,
I find "The Trusts and Guarantee Co Ltd, S SMYTH the late.
Also near Caroline.
To search, you have to type in, Township 36, Range 6, W5.
