Hello, I am looking for infromation on an Elvis Gilbert born in KY on 1-18-1888 and died in AR on 4-13-1969. His father was Rufus W. Gilbert and he had 2 brothers William Wright Gilbert my gr. gr. grandfather and Walter Gilbert he also had a half-sister named Mattie Gilbert. They were all from Graves co. KY. I believe he resided in Paragould, my family seems to think he may have lived above a funeral home. Any info will be greatly appreciated.

My Uncle was Charlie Morris (Charles Henry Morris) he married a Cynthia Gilbert in 1920 in Cardwell Mo.
They had no children.
Do you have anything on her?

No, I am sorry I don't. All of my Gilbert's are from and lived in KY, except for Elvis. Is Cynthia from AR?

I am not sure where she was from. I think on the boarder of Ark and Missouri.
I am told she had a brother John and a sister Maude who marriied a Hogan. But that is all.

Lisa, in my research trying to find my Davis relatives in Graves County Ky, a nice lady sent me a message that on the 1910 Graves County Ky census shows a Arthur Davis residing with a Rufus Gilbert and his wife Annie, who it stated was born in Ill. Do you know if this Rufus Gilbert is the one that my grandfather, Arthur was residing with? I know that my great grandfather was buried in Graves Co., though I don't know his name yet. My grandfather was Richard Arthur Davis, and he was on the 1920 census in Fulton County Ky, as being married to my grandmother, Minnie Ann McClanahan. I'm just trying to find any little bit of info that will help me find out who my greatgrandfather was. His name might be Arthur. Anyway, any help you can give me will be greatly appreciated. Hello., my great grandfather is Elvis Gilbert. He was born in KY and lived in Paragould Ark., He married Lois Rogers., they had three daughters: Mae Ruth., Anna Faye., and Wava Lou... I used to go to their home and stay with them when I was little in Arkansas. I ask my mother about living above a funeral home., they did not, however their daughter the oldest did when she got married. If you have any info.. I would greatly appreciate it... to all I know was that he did not live with his parent since he was 11 years old.... I do not know what the situation was... thanks glenda

I can send some information that someone else sent me but I know who you are taking about. My dad (now deceased many years) told me that Lois Rogers Gilbert, used to live in his house before him in Paragould. It was on 12th and Court Sts.
Also I saw where Lois signed the funeral book when my grandfather died. If you will send me your address, I will mail this information to you. My grandfather was Joe Matthew Rogers and my father was Cecil Rogers. We are related and the same family. Some of these Rogers spread to
Indiana and some went to Michigan.

Elvis Gilbert married Lois Rogers who was the daughter of Littleberry Rogers and Sally Woodson. Littleberry was born in Graves County Kentucky and they were married there in 1889 after his first wife died. Anna Faye Gilbert Purdue still lives in Paragould. Thanks., I talk to Anna faye., at times and see her.. my mom and her are close...Anna Faye is her Aunt... What we were trying to figure out was I have Mary Glisson on Elvis death cert... but his father was married to someone else..and had three more children. Elvis was born within the three children....Do you have any information regarding about it? Thanks

Lois was my great grandmother... I used to go to their home on Court street.... she made the best sugar cookies!!!! She was the best to me...My family used to go there all the time when we came to Ark.. and see the rest of the family...My mother is Mary Jo..May Ruth's daughter..Anna faye and my mom talks all the time... My mom has made it to some of the family reunions.. but I know Anna Faye and Wava used to go each year when they had them... I believe Anna Faye went again this year... They gave me a copy of the Family history... My question was that Elvis had a different mother than his siblings.. it is documented on the death cert. We were trying to figure it all out... If you have any info regarding it.. I would greatly appreciated it...thanks
