If your read Cindy's response message, then I can only add to it: did you know our city library's name is The Neiderkorn Library? Who knows, maybe if you look for other various immigrant NEIDERKORNs from Luxembourg first, you will be able to trace forward to find the name change. I believe the local Neiderkorns were here by 1850, and may have been on the census as Neidercom or something like that. Best wishes

If it is possible we would like the birth date of Clara Krell. It would be beneficial to know her dat of birth and,if at all possible, the names of her parents.
Also, the date of birth of Nicholas Niederkohr (Niederkorn/Niederkorn) and the names of his parents.
Also, any records that would show the dates of birth of their children in Luxembourg, Known childrens' names are--Mary (Maria)born about 1830,Clara born about 1832, Peter born 1836;possibly another son about 1838, Johanna (Mary J.) born 1840, and Catherine(Katherine)born about 1840.
Since they were mrried May 10, 1829 it is entirely possible (and probable)that their may havr been one or two children born and did not survive between 1826 and the birth of Mary( Maria)about 1830. Information regurding any of these children would complete the records from that time line.
Thank You

I'm looking for Margaret Niederkorn born about 1871 (per U.S. censuses). When she married Peter Laux in Feb 1899 Chicago, IL she was listed as Gretchen Niederkorn from Strassen, Lux. Peter Laux was from Kayl, Lux. Do you have any info on either of these two. Thanks in advance.

I'm trying to find more history about my great, great, great grandparents Clara (Kern) & Nicholas Niederkohr. I know came to America in the 1840's. But all the information I have is that Nicholas came here with 2 sons and 3 daughters. I have the rest of the infomation after they got here. But I would like to know where they actually came from and if there was a different spelling to the last name.
