Really don't know anything about Lydia. In the
Lincoln Co. marriages, it shows
Colman Roggers (
Coleman Rodgers,
Rogers)married Lydia
Polly Sept. 6, 1859 (no return given). I don't know if this might mean they didn't get married or if they married elsewhere. I think Lydia
Polly was my gggrandfather's mother. Not sure. The 1850 census shows Rebecca 81 head of household, Lydia 33 and
Jefferson 10. It showed a Mr. Polly as being his father from
Ky. but he was not in the household. I also thought that
Jefferson might have had a brother named Aaron. In the 1850 census, Aaron
Polley is living in the next household with a family of Merrell's. In the 1860 census, Aaron was head of household with Rebecca living with him. He had also married within the year to Catherine ?, from
Al. Also said they probably married in
Al. I have received info that Aaron married Catherine
Rodgers from
Al. I thought she might have been related to
Coleman Rodgers who had married Lydia
Polly. I don't know if the C. Rodgers I sent you was
Coleman or not. That is what was sent to me and except for the wife's name it seemed to fit. Aaron and family had moved to
Giles Co. by the 1870 census. In fact, he was in
Giles Co. during the Civil War as he was living there when he enlisted. I thought maybe the C. Rodgers and family may have moved also but that is pure speculation.
I will continue to search for Polly's and
Rodgers. If I run into anything that may help you, I'll send it on.
Thank you,
Rosemary
