Looking for information about FRANCIS (FRANK) MCELROY who lived in Lubbock, Texas prior to 1924. IN 1924 he died and his body was taken to Wilton Junction, Iowa for burial. I am looking for his wife's name and any possible children who were born to Francis while he lived in Lubbock County. Francis was born in October 26 of 1852 in Sabina, Ohio. His brother was a rich millionaire Oil and Cattle Rancher who was John Thomas MCELROY who died later in the 1930's in Texas near El Paso. I have been trying to find out about my family on the McElroy side. I can't find much. My Great Grandfather lived northeast of Lubbock in Floydada, Texas. His name was John Newton McElroy married to Harrett Duncan. He died in 1929. Since these towns are close together I am hoping your lineage is connected to mine. E-mail me if your side connects.

I am sorry but I do not know if your McElroy is connected. I only know that Frank McElroy died prior to 1924 and was living in Lubock, Tx. but taken back to Iowa to be buried with his father and mother near Wilton, Iowa. I was trying to find out if Frank had any children since I have not been able to find anything about Frank. Just assuming he was married and possibly had children. Frank McElroy was son of Francis (Frank) McElroy Sr. and Martha Ann Hallam and was brother of my GG Grandmother Sarah Jane McElroy who was married to Jasper Dawson.
Frank Jr. lived Lubock mainly because his brother John T. McElroy was living in Texas and had many ranches. Land was most likely bought by John McElroy and given to Frank to homestead on. John Thomas McElroy is my GG GrandUncle and was a oil/ranch Millionaire, He died and left his fortune to his widow wife Mamie Parker McElroy. Mamie remarried and her second husband pretty much spent the fortune leaving her pretty much broke by time she died.
