Old family records say that Randal Johnson sold his property in Gadsden/Liberty County about 1870 and moved to "Orange"...the assumption being "Orange County", although no trace of him has been found there. I understand there is a part of Liberty County called Orange...does anyone have any information about it? Thank you for the assistance.

The Liberty County Highway map shows a location named Orange. It is located about 1 mile southwest of the intersection of highways 12 and 379. Eureka Church is nearby. Hope this helps.

I've also heard it's the location of a failed orange grove/plantation. Don't really know the timeframe though. Maybe middle to late 1800's?

Orange is actually a small little community located between Bristol and Estiffanulga on County Road 12. Just below the Lake Mystic Community and before the Apalachicola National Forest. There isn't really much there except for a few homes. Once there was a general store, I want to say the building is still there but haven't been in a few years. That is where all of my Florida family, Sumner, is from.
