Mary Ann, I don't have any recent information, but this is what I know: my great, great, great, great (phew!) grandmother was named Tekla Lojas, born probably in Poronin, Poland (or nearby). This is in the Nowy Targ district of Poland, near Zakopane. Was your grandfather born in the town of Nowy Targ or just the in district of Nowy Targ?

Nowy Targ the town is over 10 miles away from the Poland/Czech border, so my guess is that they're from the district and not the town.
