My father, Allyn Parks Evans, was born in Springfield, Il., in 1917 to William ? Evans and Edith Parks Evans. My father lived in Verdon for 4 years (in Macoupin county) he lived in the street behind his grandfather and grandmother he does not know his grandparents names, my grandfather was born 1894?/ in Verdon ? he left for california when my father was 14, Williams' father also left until he got older, my grandmother Edith divorced him. He also ran a speakeasy in Springfield, and I believed was arrested for this. Descent Welch, I hope some knows.

Florann, I am not related to your family, but I do like in VIRDEN, Illinois. I will check to see if the weekly newspaper or our small library has old copies of the weekly published newspapers going back that far. If so, I will do some checking to see if there is any information about your father and his parents. I'll let you know what I find out.
