I am looking for anyone with information on
my father's family. My father migrated from
China cir. 1932 to meet up with his father
in San Francisco. His given name is Yee Dean
Lee (American name is Henry NMI Yee)and his
village is Canton was called Nam Sam Duc Sam
in an area called Schlom Fou (these are only
phonetic spellings)and his language dialect
is called Hoi San (Thai San in Mandarin). He
now lives in Eudora, Arkansas (since 1956)
but he moved from San Francisco in the late
1930's to Arkansas

I am related to Yee's in San Francisco. My dad's name was Jackson B. Woon. He is a sister of Betty Lou Woon(now Smith) and Jean Woon, also brother to Henry Guy Woon. I am thinking that a second cousin was Christine Yee and Gene Lee or Yee. I know that my dad's father's name was Woon Chuck (american name) and he married a Rose Pok (a.k.a Lucille Tom) who is related to Ida and Roy Tom.

The area your father came from, Schlom Fou, is now part of Kaiping, no longer part of Taishan. The literal translation is "Tri-cities". It was on the border between Taishan and Kaiping. Officially it is now called "Kaiping City". There is a lot of Yee's from that area, especially Dickhoi.

Hello to all the Yee's out there! I am from an old Sydney, Australia branch of the Yee family. My grandfather was apparently born in China in a village called "Sam Fou Dick Hoy" and quite a few of his relatives both close and distant live here. His name was Alfred ( I don't know his Chinese name) and he was related to Claude and Arthur Yee and the Yee Ben clan. I believe he had a number of siblings and that at least one of them lived in San Francisco. When I have more concise info I will update.
Blessings.

I am part of the Yee family in San Francisco. My grandfather Wong Sun Quong immigrated here in 1928 through Angel Island. He married Yee Suey-Yeong (1918-1993) in China in 1937. Her parents were Yee Bing-Wu and Yee Ng. Her brother Yee-Win-Lai (1899-1974) emigrated to Calgary from China. We are from the "Foot Ho" village in China.
