I am researching the descendants and ancestors of James B. Skipworth, b.1806 TN who married Mary Rich, b.Nov 30 1808, probably Clay Co. TN. I have some info on descendants, but nothing on parents of James B. He may have been a brother to Richard Skipworth of Cumberland Co. KY, but so far unable to find the parents of either of them
to prove that.

My cousin, Melanie Zumwalt, and I are researching our Skipworth ancestry. We are led to believe that James B. Skipworth's father is John Skipworth or Skipper and James B.'s mother is Lucretia Hawkins. No confirmation nor dates.

I believe my husband;s family is this line of Skipworth's. Ours is Eli Skipworth, son of John Skipper and Lucretia Hawkins of North Carolina who moved to Maury Tennessee. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Stephanie Skipworth

I have an Absalom Skipworth and wife Nancy Crawford who, like your James, shows up in 1850 Jackson Co. TN.

I can't find him in 1860, but by 1870, two of his children (Rachel and George Riley) are in Lavaca Co. TX.
