Looking for any information on my great grandparents. Information I have is they came from Pennsylvannia. My grandfather was married twice, second wife was Lydia Prince. They moved many times, supposedly from Pennsylvannia, West Virginia,Missouri. My family is from North Dakota. I have a old newspaper article from Juanita County, Pennsylvannia and it mentions that the Port Royal Post Office was in Turbett Township, and in l863 the McAfees were on the register. Does any one have any information for me . Thanks

Carla: Have lived all my life in PA and don't know of a Juanita Co. However, there is a Juniata River and Port Royal is located along it. Port Royal is about midway between Harrisburg and State College. Hope this helps you narrow your search. I also am researching a McAfee line. But mine are from Chester Co, PA which is further east than the area you're looking at. If I find anything of interest, I'll let you know.

information, the maps and areas were probably alot different back then, this newspaper does mention the Pennsylvania canal along the Junita River.
It mentions McAfeetown in Turbett Township. McAfee must be a common name, my mom told me she my great grandfather had 7 boys and left his wife, and married Lydia Prince and that is when my grandfather was born. His name was Edward, brothers were Thomas, and William, and sister was Elizabeth she thought Great grandfather was a shoemaker,but details as where they actually lived are sketchy because mom said her dad did not talk about his real dad, his mother raised the kids. Carla my mother is a Mc Afee there is a Juanita Co. in Pa. It's a little south west of port royal there was a McAfee town back along the mountain. Your story sounds a lot like the one I herd from my mom, her father was Edward and granddad was John McAfee

James,I know my mom's immediate family,she had 10 other family members,her parents were Edward and Anna, maybe there is a link from John? I don't have data about my family for they left mississippi, left all the first and second cusin, plus not written data about the other kin.

My family are black McAfees originally from Hallettesville, Texas. My grandfather Leonard James McAfee married Grandma Mary Johnson McAfee. They had fourteen children including two sets of twins and one set of triplets. Only seven sisters survive including the triplets, who are about 50 something. One of the triplets has twin boys, Leonard and Floyd and they have a brother named Melvin. They are Bacons. Surviving:Berlene,Alma,Katy,Adell triplets
Ellen, Alice,and Evelyn.
Deceased:Lincoln,Letty,Bernita,Betty,twins Julius and James and Vernon.
Julius was my father who died in July 1981.
I am the oldest with one son Omar, two daughters Chandra and Bahaiti. My sister Debra has one son Davett and three daughters Denisha,DayToya and Debrecia. Denisha has two daughters Shanisha and Elizshae. My brother Julius has a son Julius McAfee III and a daughter LeShell. Then my brother Gregory who is a batchelor. My mother is Aubrey Tyler McAfee. Finally glad to know from other Black McAfees.

My family so I am told came from Mississippi, but my problem is that my father and his brothers and sisters left. when they done that they left other living kin, first cousins, second and so on. dont know what happen to all of these folks. My father is 87, some sisters 85, 90 etc. I'm 58,and my name is melvin.
