My husband is descended from Lacy McAbee of Spartainburg Co SC. He had sons Elijah Elisha. One of them had son Lacy who was in GA by 1840 with wife Josephine. Any info appreciated.

my family line comes from elijah mcabee born 4/9/1807 or 1808. this elijah died 7/22/1887 in franklin tennessee. his wifes name was dorcus james. they had 16 children but none of them named lacy.

i guess that narrows it down to elisha, if my elijah is the brother of elisha. i do not have any information futher back than elijah.

do you have any information that would say that lacy is the father of elijah ? another mcabee researcher believes that elijah mcbee sr. is the father of elijah. elijah mcbee was born 1774 in spartanburg south carolina and the line goes back three more generations but there is no conformation from that researcher where this information comes from.

I am reveiwing my material which I have not researched for close to 10 years. I have grants for Lacey W. McAbee Craven Co in 1772 1774. In some of the Spt co deed books it mentions Lacy wife Ann. Our definite Lacy connection was born about 1798, The info I have that Lacy is son of Elisha is not proven was suggested to me. There is a babtisimal on the IGI for a Lacy born to Lacy Ann Mcabey in Prince George Co Md. I will have to recheck the year. So as Lacy is not common there is possibly a connection there. Will have to get back into the study. Let me know what you think. In the Spt Co Deed book by Pruitt There are Pettits connected with Elisha McABee do you know anything about them? I have a Pettit connection with my Walker line there but no info have not found parents of my Walkers.

An Elisha McAbee b 1837 and married a Mary Sprouse on 9 Jan 1849 Rutherford NC, he was the son of Lacy W. McAbee who married Isabella Beaty. Lacy W. was born in 1797 in SC and died after 1880 in Sharp Co AR. and I have 9 children listed with them. I also have another line of Lacy's and I think this Lacy W. is somehow related to the rest, but i haven't been able to tie it in yet.
Starting with Lacey Sr. born 4 Oct 1705 d 1739 was the S/o James Mackabee b 1670. Lacey Sr had 2 kids; 1. Elizabeth b 9 apr 1731 and 2. Lacey Jr. b. 26 jan 1732/33 and d 1813 in SC. Lacey Jr had 3 kids: 1. Elisha Sr. b 1765 2. William C. b 1768 3. Charles Sr. b 1770.
and then 20 some years later, this Lacy W. b. 1797 appears.
Now Elijah, I have too, on another line. I do not have these two lines tied in. Elijah was married to Sarah Dorcas (White or James). They had 16 children. It was mentioned to me at one time, that Sarah Dorcus James/White, was related to the Jesse James. Also from census records, Elijah maybe a twin to an Elisha. That has come up a lot, but nothing has been proven yet.
I have Elijah's line down from there. and I have Elisha's line, far from complete but I have found new info. I am not sure what you have but I am willing to share info.

My husband's grandfather, John Elisha McAbee born in Henderson County, North Carolina in 1872 was the son of an Elisha McAbee and Mary Sprouce McAbee. John had siblings: Priss (?), Mary, Tom, and Frank. Is this the same family? Any information would be appreciated.
