Hi Brian
At first I was of the same thoughts but I obtained the marriage cert. from GRO and all the information matches. His father was named John
TOOSE, his occupation was a Poulterer. Alfreds occupation was a
Carpenter. All that matches except his age. The cert says 23, infact he was born in 1872 and would have only been 20, and his father was deceased by 1892 but the cert. does not say that.
The second cert. of 1897 in the District of Pontypool tells me that he is a
BACHELOR aged 26, a carpenter and his father named John
TOOSE (deceased) but his occupation is given as a carpenter too, which is actually incorrect.
I am now convinced that they are the same person. I just wondered what happended to Amorah. There does not appear to have been any children. She may have died in childbirth, but I can find no trace.
The second marriage bore 10 children.
Thanks again for your interest
regards
Douglas
